As winter in the northern hemisphere is ramping up making our lives ever-so miserable most of us find ourselves in a fashion predicament: Brave the winter snow storms and freezing temperatures by bundling up in more layers than an onion, or by risking getting a cold in favour of fashion.
When it comes to proper winter coats that provide sensible protection against the elements, most of the options out there unfortunately render all humans into a Michelin-Men marshmallow-sapiens that — while keep us warm and cozy — they make for a horrible outfit.
With that being said, it’s not all bleak. These days, there are many more options for coats that provide that needed protection from the elements, but also do so with style and elegance.
Before we start this list, there are a couple of things we have to mention:
- Cheaper is more expensive. We’ve all done it. We buy a cheaper winter coat thinking to ourselves: “Look at all these fools, spending ludicrous amounts where you can find amazing bargains for fraction of the prices out there!” This always results in you having to replace it every other winter. Although we’ve seen many people patching up their coats with duct tape or attempt to saw them back. Sooner or later that fluff protecting you from the elements will find its way out, thinning out the layers of the coat protecting you from the elements.
- Your winter coat is probably one of the only items of clothing you’d wear for 4-5 months straight, almost every day of the week. And since you’d be wearing it daily, its likely going to be a first-impression in many encounters such as dates, meetings and shopping. For an item with this much importance, it’s okay to splurge a little and be sure that it makes you look fantastic. So choose wisely.
- Space-suits are the most ideal life-form of a winter jacket. They are designed for the coldest temperatures in the universe and come with cool looking patches that instantly shout – “this man’s a freakin’ Astronaut!” … But most of us can’t afford one.
Now that we’ve got this out of the way, let’s look at the 5 most fashionable coats for men:
Moose Knuckles – Ballistic Bomber Jacket With Fur Hood
A relatively new comer to the game, this Canadian brand made its mark on the industry by way of outrageous marketing campaigns. You put them on and it’s as if you’ve suddenly came back from commando training. Plus there’s something so attractive about that metal logo pate, that will be instantly recognized by many as a stark fashion statement.
