Another day, another celebrity beauty collaboration in the works. This time, makeup lovers (and possibly skincare lovers) can look forward to a makeup line released by California cool influencer-cum-model Hailey Bieber. There are no clues yet as to what the line will have, but based on the fact that Mrs. Bieber tends to go barefaced more often than not, I think we can expect soft neutral palettes, cream blushes, shimmery bronzers, and a few champagne and golden highlighters. Personally, I love that kind of style, especially for summer, so this new makeup line will probably be right up my alley. I can’t wait to see the teasers!
Bieber certainly isn’t the first celebrity to turn her star power into a makeup line – Kylie Jenner, Kim Kardashian-West and Rihanna have been making waves in the beauty industry for nearly three years now with massively successful makeup collections doing well both in-store and on e-commerce platforms. And, of course, who could forget the early 2000s, when every celeb with a #1 single released a fragrance? Britney Spears Curious, anyone?
Nowadays, more celebrities seem to be forgoing the fragrance trend and instead releasing makeup collections, usually to great fanfare. Lady Gaga is releasing “Haus Beauty”, JLo and her longtime makeup artists Scott Barnes are releasing a makeup line which promises to deliver that iconic Jennifer Lopez glow, Serena Williams has trademarked her beauty brand called “Aneres”, and Victoria Beckham is pivoting from fashion to beauty with an upcoming skincare line. We can barely keep up.
